Quitman, TX

We traveled to Quitman, TX on Sep. 25th for a Sunday evening service. As we pulled up to the church I saw something for the 1st time - my name on a church marquee! It was very strange and surreal because growing up I guess I never imagined that happening. We met the pastor and his wife for the first time in person although I know their son Nathan Otwell from college and from being in a band together (RunSilent).

We had an awesome service as we were able to share a special song, a missions window, and I preached a word that I felt God had been putting on my heart for a long time about freedom and the people of the church seemed to respond well to it. Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen (one of two restaurant options there) for dinner. Ironically I had mentioned getting a blizzard at Dairy Queen during my sermon even though I had no idea it was one of the only restaurants in the city. Pastor Otwell and his wife are such genuine and kind people, and they also were very understanding of how our boys can act a little crazy after a long day, which was a big plus! Thank you again for having us pastor and may God continue to bless your church as you endeavor to keep missions as a priority!

Thanks for reading and please pray for us to be able to raise our support quickly so we can get to England as soon as possible.

Conroe, TX

We had a great time in Conroe, TX on September 11th. Obviously it was a big day in our nations history because it was the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. There was a memorial video shown and the pastor had a special time of prayer for our nation as well. After worship, we were able to share special music and a short window about our missionary opportunity to London. The pastor preached a very strong message and during his sermon he mentioned a scripture that really stood out to me. I felt like it described the people of England and Europe in general. It was Revelation 3:17 and it says “You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked (NLT).” You see the people of England are very rich monetarily but spiritually they are bankrupt and destitute.

After service we saw some friends from college and we were able to talk with many members of the church who were so kind and friendly to us. Many of them encouraged us and took prayer cards in order to pray for us. Then we went out with the pastor and his wife to a delicious Mexican restaurant and learned of their family’s rich involvement in missions around the world. It is so exciting to know that God is moving here in the U.S., in the U.K., and all over the world!
