Mer and I had an incredible opportunity to be at the Oaks Fellowship with Clayton Brooks on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. I actually attended the Oaks for 17 years so it was almost like coming home for me. Also, Clayton and I grew up together since we were about 11 years old and have remained great friends even though he’s a Redskins fan ;)
We had a blast playing with the worship team that night with Clayton and Ross and Candis Fishburn who are also close friends. On top of that, God moved in a very sweet way during worship. After worship, Meredith and I played 3 of our original songs, which was really fun for us because most churches only have time for us to do one.
Next, Clayton interviewed us about our mission to London and we were able to share how God called us to London and how we were able to confirm that it was Him speaking to us. This was the 1st time that we shared our mission in an interview style and we absolutely loved it!
At the end of the service Clayton had people come up and pray for us and then we had some great conversations with individuals after the close of the service. Several people were really interested in our calling to London and had additional questions for us. We also got to talk to a couple that had lived in Scotland for a few years and they were able to give us insight into the culture of the UK. Also, we were really excited because several people made a commitment to support us on a monthly basis (our 2nd greatest need after prayer)!
Thanks for reading and please pray for us to be able to raise our support quickly so we can get to England as soon as possible.
